北京理工大學計算機學院以北京理工大學為辦學依托，繼承“德以明理，學以精工”的辦學理念和傳統，根據經濟發展和社會需求、培養具有正確核心價值觀、掌握計算機技術并具有軟件工程素養的復合型和應用型IT人才。

　　計算機學院辦學價值體現在：樹立全人教育理念，關注學生成長，對學生重視計算機基礎理論和軟件工程素質的培養，重視提高計算思維能力，使學生掌握主流計算機應用架構(或技術平臺)應用技能，并獲得專業相關的職業崗位指導和培訓。

　　學院設有計算機科學與技術、軟件工程、網絡工程、數字媒體技術四個專業，有來自全國各名牌高校優秀教師60余人、教授6人、副教授10人、博士5人。學院遵循“以教師為本，以教學為中心”的工作指導方針，成立教學發展中心，并以此組織為主導，注重教師職業發展和教師隊伍建設，使學院專業建設可持續地穩定發展。

　　學院擁有13間實驗室，其中 “思科網絡實驗室”、“虛擬現實與互動游戲室”、“軟件工程實訓室”、“嵌入式系統實驗室”達國內先進水平，為培養應用型人才提供了良好的實驗教學環境。學院還與國內外近60家IT企業合作，例如金山軟件、東軟睿道、新加坡i-Sprint等，提供高水平校內外實習實訓基地，為學生搭建社會實踐平臺。

　　學院在外聘請社會知名企業高管組成“導師團”，在內推行“全程導學制”培養模式，使學生在校四年均有學業導師全程指導，關心學生心智和學業成長。學院有多種專業項目活動，以此加強學生實踐能力的培養。多年來學院教學科研成果豐碩，獲得廣東省教改立項3項、校級教改15項，縱橫向產學研合作7項。

　　學院目前有各種社團、科技創新、學術活動、學科競賽、專業認證和專業技能比賽等活動豐富多彩。我院學生曾在各種競賽活動中屢獲嘉獎，例如“博創杯”全國大學生嵌入式設計大賽、全國“中國軟件杯”大學生大賽等。此外，學院還提供ORACLE數據庫、思科網絡、JAVA、微軟工程師等多種職業資格認證和培訓。

　　學院現有本科在校學生近2500人，據第三方權威評估機構-麥可思的調查，我院畢業生在就業率、就業競爭力、崗位薪酬等核心指標上均名列前茅，得到社會的普遍認可。

　　Relying on Beijing Institute of Technology, inheriting the educational philosophy and tradition of “Morality lies in sensibility and awareness, Studying polishes engineering knowledge”, and according to the economic development and social needs, School of Computer aims to cultivate the high-quality compound and applied IT talents with the correct core values, mastering the technology of computer and with good software engineering literacy.

　　The value of School of Computer is mainly embodied with establishing the concept of liberal education, concentrating on the growing up of students, paying high attention to the training of the basic theories of computer and software engineering literacy, attaching great importance to students’ ability of computational thinking, enabling students to master the application skills on at least one mainstream framework (or technical platform), and obtain the profession related position guide and training.

　　The school now provides four major programs, i.e. Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Digital Media Technology and Network Engineering. There is a team of more than 60 excellent teachers from brand-name colleges and universities all over the country, among them, 6 professors, 10 associated professors and 5 doctors. The school follows the principle of “Teacher-based and Teaching-centered”, and establishes the teacher education development center. Depending on this center, it lays great stress on the teacher occupation development and on the construction of teacher team for the specialty construction developed in a sustainable way.

　　The school sets up 13 laboratories. CISCO network laboratory，virtual reality and interactive game laboratory, software engineering practice training laboratory and embedded system laboratory all have reached the domestic advanced level. These laboratories provide a good experimental teaching environment for cultivating applied talents. The school has also cooperated with nearly 60 IT organizations both at home and abroad, such as Kingsoft Co. Ltd., NeuEdu Co. Ltd., i-Sprint Innovations Pte Ltd. (Singapore), and so on. In doing so, it provides the high-level practice bases inside and outside school, and builds the social practice platform for students.

　　The schools has engaged the well-known social enterprise executives as “The supervisor team”, introduced the training mode of “The full-process guidance” which students can obtain the full-process guidance during the 4-years study and school-life from his or her supervisor. The school also organizes many project team activities in order to improve the practical ability of the students. The school has established many educational and scientific research achievements during the past years, e.g. 3 province-level educational reforms, 15 university-level educational reforms, 7 co-operations of production-education-research.

　　There are the various student associations, technological innovations, academic activities, academic competitions, professional qualification authentication, and professional skill competitions in the school. The students have made the outstanding achievements in various kinds of competitions, e.g. Borch Cup National Undergraduate embedded design competition, China software Cup Undergraduate contest, and etc. The school provides a variety of professional certification training, such as .Oracle certified professional, Oracle certified java programmer, Cicso certified network engineer, Microsoft certified programmer, and etc.

　　The school has more than 2500 students at present. According to the third-party authoritative evaluation institution, MyCos Research, the student employment rate, the employment competitiveness and job salaries are all at the top of the list, and generally accepted by the society.
